I love connecting with people authentically.

I believe it’s important for leaders to be approachable and to make time for the people around them. One of the ways we do this is through one-on-ones.

Leaders who don’t spend the time necessary to build relationships won’t be respected by their staff. It’s hard to build a great company if authentic relationships haven’t been built.

This is true for the workplace and I think this is also true on social media.

I sometimes see social media influencers who simply want to push content out. But they don’t respond to messages and don’t engage much with the comments.

It is hard to get to everyone. But as best as I can, I love to respond and connect with everyone who reaches out.

So, last week we tried a new way to connect authentically. We did a Facebook live event where I answered your questions and shared a little bit of what it’s like leading a company behind the scenes.

It was so much fun connecting with you.
