Both highly successful and less successful companies have decent leadership.

Except, less successful companies have what you call a level 4 leader.

• They produce results, make the decisions, and others follow.

• It’s more about them and their success rather than the success of the organization.

Meanwhile, highly successful companies have a level 5 leader.

• They raise up stronger leaders around them.

• Solves issues along with their team.

• Takes the blame and gives credit to others.

• Focuses on the success of the organization and not about themselves.

According to Jim Collins and his Standford team, the difference between a highly successful company and one that fails is the difference in the type of leader.

• Make sure you are focused on seeing the organization be successful even at your own expense.

• Encourage people smarter than you to join the team.

• Listen to their ideas and give them the credit.
