One attribute of a leader is integrity.
“Integrity is choosing your thoughts and actions based on values rather than personal gain.”
It’s something that’s instilled in some, practiced, and ignored in others.
For a manager to ask their employees to follow certain policies, but not follow it themselves, will not work in the long run.
After all, leadership is fundamentally about human relationships.
Following through with what you say.
Remaining fair.
Communicating honestly.
Showing appreciation.
Ethics, values and integrity hold significance for customers and employees alike.
If noticing integrity in someone else is easily done, then shouldn’t we know when we are compromising our own integrity? That one has the choice and power to preserve our own integrity when we are tempted to stray from it.
A leader of integrity is true to themselves, while being authentic to others.
