When defining what a leader is, many resort to the roles of a manager.
Leaders give direction.
Leaders build a vision.
Leaders inspire others.
These definitions are based on the behaviors and activities of what leaders do, rather than who they are.
Leaders are grateful.
Leaders are understanding.
Leaders carry positive energy.
Energy, like attitude, is a balanced equation. What gets put in, is what comes out.
"The leader's attitude is like a thermostat for the workplace. If their attitude is good, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the environment is easy to work in. But if their attitude is bad, the temperature is insufferable." John C. Maxwell
It’s a difficult task, but what many great leaders do well is they evaluate the energy they’re producing.
They recognize that if they aren’t passionate or excited about what they’re doing or where the organization is going, then why should anyone else?
Leaders who energize themselves, energize the team, and ultimately the organization.
